Ira's first big stage performance

 It was her school annual day on 13 Dec 2024 and Ira opened up the show - first with a speech and then a dance performance.  It was a proud moment to see her performance on a full size auditorium with hundreds of parents. She was confident and seemed to have no stage fear!

Photos from 14 Dec 2024 when Ira participated in the Bharatnatyam dance performance.  She does not very much enjoys going to this dance. But is fearless to be present on the stage. 

Cycling without Supports

  We removed both the cycle supports on 27th Feb.  She struggled a bit that day (video below). But a day later, on 28th, she was cycling without much problems.

Cycle Support Removed

Ira was driving the cycle with 2 supports.  Today, we removed one of the supports - one small step in the direction of independence!  She had some difficulty in maintaining the balance. But I am sure it will be Ok in just a few days.. 

Republic Day 2025

 Ira gave a speech on the republic day highlighting the difference between Independence day and Republic day.  Here, she is getting a certificate of appreciation from the society.    The speech: 

The Birth

2 November 2018 "The bile levels are at 18 as per the last report. (they were 14 a couple of weeks back)", the doctor said as Ankita and I listened on tensely. This coupled with the high sugar levels and 3 loops around her neck forced the doctor's advice to deliver the baby today - exactly a month before the due date.  "We can either do it today afternoon or tomorrow". It was Shahrukh Khan's birthday so had to be today!  The process started. The head of NICU came, another pediatrician came, the anesthetist came. They assured all will be well but the baby would have to be in NICU for around 2 weeks.  Drip was put on and we waited.  At 2.30 PM, they came to take Ankita to the OT. She refused to take the wheelchair. A drip bottle in hand, she walked through the corridor and into the OT.   I was asked to get permission from the doctor if I had to be in OT. It was denied.  As I waited outside the OT, some people walked in and out. Then around ...
